What is an IP address?

An IP address (Internet Protocol address) is a unique numeric label assigned to every device that connects to a network. IPv4 vs. IPv6: what is the difference?

What does an IP address reveal?

How accurate is IP geolocation?

In practice, country-level accuracy is very high, city-level accuracy is good but imperfect, and an IP address never reveals a street address or a specific individual. Public vs. private IP addresses
